Available Kittens | Kitten Raising | Past Kittens Kitten raising at "Challcats" starts right at the beginning of mom's pregnancy. During this time I take special care of my moms. A few days before the calculated day of birth I usually take 'maternal' leave, to guarantee that my moms are not alone at delivery and so that I am able to take care of the little cat family afterwards. A few weeks before the birth I place a comfortable queening box, so that my moms get used to it, accept it and are as close to me as possible. Naturally, all the necessary support and assistance with delivery is provided. The little cat family stays in the queening box for 3 - 4 weeks, where they receive daily "room service", "cuddle units" and regular weight control. All the other cats can visit the little family at any time. When they are ready to leave the queening box, my little cat family initially moves to the "nursery". Our nursery is in a very friendly, freely accessible room and consists of a big cathouse with a little scratching post, litter pan, sleeping tents, toys and an adjacent playpen, where they are able to learn independent eating habits and to use the litter box. At about 6 - 7 weeks this room is a starting point for the kittens to discover the whole apartment and they are able to play with the whole Challcats-gang. Between the age of 12 - 14 weeks they have developed as fast as the wind to impressive delightful kittens. My kittens are all raised with the highest amount of care, tenderness and love, which results in their especially friendly and cuddly character. To ensure that my kittens continue to enjoy a wonderful life, where they are loved and well cared for, I pay a lot attention to their future homes so that they meet me special expectations. I only give my cats to loving, responsible people and small cageless catteries. From the 13th week, my kittens are able to leave me. They are vaccinated, dewormed and vet-checked. Their original pedigrees are provided. My cats are PKD-, FELV- and FIV negative. The goodbyes to "my kittens" are always tearful and sad. I am more than happy to receive any information and photos and are always available to answer questions and help where I can.
